Overview

We are looking for trustworthy and proactive engineering managers with many years’ engineering experience and proven leadership skills. Engineering managers can expect to work on many projects at the same time, build and manage diverse teams of engineers from different disciplines, formulate and execute strategies, and coordinate with other managers. Their responsibilities usually include researching and developing new designs and products, proposing budgets for projects, and overseeing all the activities related to each project.

 

To be successful as an engineering manager, you should have exceptional foresight, great communication skills, a working knowledge of different engineering disciplines and how they relate to one another, and an aptitude for managing risk. Ideally, candidates will have proof of their supervisory and technical skills, and an appreciation for the complex nature of the industry.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Manages a set of agile teams
  • Manages multiple projects
  • Hands-on, first time manager.
  • Leadership is demonstrated through team leadership/knowledge in a specific technical area.
  • Provides coaching, feedback, developmental opportunities, etc. to directs.
  • Places emphasis on not only attracting talent but also retaining it
  • Majority of direct reports are individual contributors, employees and/or contractors.
  • Demonstrates an ability to communicate the technical knowledge through project management/contributions to product strategy.
  • Setting the strategy and direction of the business and driving continuous improvement of
  • systems, products and processes.
  • Ability to own and drive the New feature engineering road map for a global product
  • Ability to execute complex programs working with cross functional teams like Services, product, Architecture, Sourcing, 3rd party etc. and provide a transparent and clear communication of program status for all the stake holders.
  • Hands on design and coding skills to guide teams technically and also take the technical abilities of the teams to next level.
  • Resource assignment and prioritization, including headcount and base cost budget management.
  • Responsible for all the program deliverables from the team.
  • Technical review of requirement, design and test documents and provide appropriate feedback.
  • Review the work estimates and assignments of team members and follow up on all commitments.
  • Work with different groups (Development, V&V, Tech Writing, System Engineering) and ensure smooth and seamless deliverables.
  • Excellent communicational skills & ability to articulate status to global stake holders clearly.
  • Apply past experience and information to new situations and proactively avoid potential
  • roadblocks and improve productivity of the teams.
  • Drive Quality initiatives in the team.
  • Motivate and encourage team members to deliver to their best potential.

Skills Required

  • BE, ME/MTech. Preferably in Computer Science.
  • 10+ years experience in IT industry.
  • Good Project and People Management Skills.
  • Experience in programming languages like C#/.Net, Angular and cloud technologies.
  • Should have interacted with customers and have good understanding of customer issues.
  • Good exposure to Agile development methodology.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Lean thinking and focus on continuous improvement.
  • Global team interactions and team building skills.

Desired Characteristics

  • Exposure Azure Cloud technologies.
  • Knowledge of the Healthcare domain
