Overview

The Systems Administrator coordinates administration and support of enterprise systems, applications, and services for symplr’s corporate & cloud infrastructure. This individual participates in technical research and development to enable continuing innovation within the infrastructure. This individual will assist engineering project teams with technical issues in the implementation and support of core infrastructure products and services.  Provides escalation support to Service Desk. The Systems Administrator will also assist in the troubleshooting and resolution, initiating component exchange when required, and documenting detail in the ticket tracking system.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Monitor ticket queues and address Tier 1 and some Tier 2 Systems related issues.
  • Provide hands-on system administration support, system maintenance and operations support for corporate software solutions
  • Performs daily system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all hardware, server and storage resources, systems and key processes, reviewing system and application logs, and verifying completion of scheduled jobs such as backups
  • Assists with administering and gathering required components and documentation of annual compliance audits
  • Provides technical analysis and support of engineering staff in executing, testing and rolling-out infrastructure solutions
  • Confers with users and IT personnel to develop new approaches or alternatives to ensure that user assistance is being provided effectively and efficiently
  • Maintains records, logs, and reports of assistance in ticket tracking system
  • Maintains network and PC preventive maintenance logging efforts to ensure network and data integrity
  • Responsible to help administer all corporate data backups and business continuity processes
  • Writes and maintains documentation related to corporate infrastructure design, operations, policies, and procedures
  • Analyzes, installs, and tests new software applications and upgrades of externally developed application programs and recommends purchase where required
  • Installs software updates, patches, or new software products
  • Assists engineering project teams with the implementation and support of core infrastructure products and services, including the testing and rolling-out of solutions
  • Help develop and implement on-boarding / off-boarding procedures
  • Work on-call outside of regular business hours in rotation including on weekends and overnight
  • Initially, this position will work from 12:30pm IST to 9:30pm IST but would eventually transition to a 4:30am IST to 1:30pm IST shift. This will be discussed during the interview process

Skills Required

  • Understanding of intermediate to advanced administration of Active Directory, Office 365, and other critical applications used to maintain fluid operations
  • Knowledge of computer and/or network security systems, applications, procedures, and techniques
  • Ability to install, configure and maintain networks and related hardware and software
  • Excellent time management skills, resource organization and priority establishment skills, and ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong analytical problem-solving skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to all levels of the company and ability to communicate technical information to nontechnical personnel
  • Attention to detail and organized
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Bachelor’s degree or completion of technical training program, or 4 years of related experience and/or training
  • Microsoft certification and/or Network+/A+ certification preferred
  • Experience with Cloud-based platforms like AWS and Azure
  • Experience with Vmware ESXI and vCenter
  • 5+ years of demonstrated knowledge in administering Microsoft Exchange/Windows Active Directory domain environments, administering user accounts, objects, groups, roles, and permissions
  • 5+ years of demonstrated knowledge provisioning and supporting Microsoft Office 2016 and/or O365 products
  • Experience with system imaging products or Microsoft SCCM
  • Experience with PowerShell, general scripting, and process automation

 

Desired Skills and Qualifications:

  • Windows Server required, Linux experience
  • Experience with on-premise or cloud PBX/IP PBX systems
  • Experience with patching Windows and Linux servers
