Overview

symplr is seeking a Staff Quality Engineer to lead the quality engineering efforts of a product. The Staff Quality Engineer is responsible for ensuring symplr software solutions are delivered to clients with utmost quality. This person is involved in all aspects of software development lifecycle, including designing, and executing test plans, creating, and following an automated test strategy, planning, and executing a thorough regression before release, and working with the team to ensure quality best practices are adhered to. 

Duties & Responsibilities

  • As member of an agile development team, participate in daily stand-ups, planning and other meetings
  • Work with engineering and product teams to devise a test strategy for the features being built
  • Implement an automated test strategy that is scalable and reliable
  • Maintain and support the test infrastructure required for running tests
  • Collaborate with quality engineers and other members of the team to execute test strategy
  • Design, develop and execute tests based on functional and non-functional requirements
  • Analyze test results, communicate issues and report any defects
  • Escalate risks and dependencies encountered during testing

Skills Required

  • Able to work with both onshore and offshore teams
  • Hands-on experience with building and maintaining test automation frameworks
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Must be proactive, passionate, and able to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Should be able to work with minimum supervision
  • Experience working in an agile environment with distributed engineering teams
  • Strong technical and analytical skills with good understanding of how web and mobile application stacks work
    • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics, or a related field 
    • 5-7+ years of experience testing SaaS products.
    • Experience with testing tools like Selenium Web Driver, Cucumber, Postman, JMeter, ReadyAPI
    • Experience testing native mobile applications (iOS, Android)
    • Experience with AWS required
    • Experience with languages like C#, Java, Ruby etc.
    • Experience testing web services (REST, SOAP etc.)
    • Experience with test management tools like Azure DevOps, Zephyr etc.
